Beside the benchmark in european tradeshows and the biggest trade show for bicycles on earth, the Eurobike, there are more and more smaller tradeshows and gatherings coming up this year. Compared to the the pretty much global overall focus of the Eurobike, these smaller events concentrate on different areas/ type of bikes or niche markets with special interests and people. The first one this year is the Berliner Fahrradschau which will be take place right in the heart of Berlin at a place called Station-Berlin next to the Gleisdreieck in Berlin Kreuzberg. The flair of the event will be focused on urban mobility and lifestyle. Despite this is the debut of the show, I´m pretty sure that this event is a date for anybody from or around Berlin who is interested in bikes. Some side events like BMX, Bikepolo and Goldsprints will complete this weekend. FIXIE Inc. will also display some stuff, so come and see..

Yang Cheng Lin is the owner of breakbrake17 THE fixed gear boutique in Taipei (awesome name btw). Again, Recep will be enjoying some beers with him and his friends, who are the taipei fixed gear scene-pushers. This times occasion is these guys’ second event; the P.D.P #2. “Pedal it, don’t push it!” is the claim of this annual showdown. P.D.P. #2 will present Taiwans first official bike polo demonstration, besides trick and bunny hop contests, in a carneval atmosphere. The happening will be during the Taipei Cycle Show by Watergate 16 at the Keelung River. We’ll see if MO will be able to impress these great guys; I heard he sent them some mallets for this event..

Last weekend we had the first edition of the Greif Masters Indoor Polo tourney here in Karlsruhe. After weeks of preparation the event turned out pretty good and we are very satisfied with the result. Even a second edition can be supported here :D. This weekend we have been busy with Greif Masters preparation.. Now everything is in schedule and we are super excited for the next weekend. Check pics here.

As it was little complicated to get a proper netted goal in the right size we like to play with at the Greif Masters next weekend, so we decided to make an own one out of 60mm aluminum tubes. Size should be 180x80x45cm, foldable and has to have an elastic band as upper bar to avoid the goalie to brace on it. With such kind of goals, no further goal refs are needed and a clear decision concerning the height of the shot being a goal or not can be made. David Auner and Michael Lebek from Vienna will produce a fixed gear movie in Kairo this february. 5 Persons will be on a chase through the city, pictured by up to 6 cameras. We are happy to support this intresting project with some Black Jacks. Asking David what kind of movie the result will be, compared to the well known aesthetic-focused productions of Macaframa or MASH, and the typical alleycat street battles of Monstertrack or Rumble through the Bronx, he said the result will have strong influences from the messenger roots of its contributors.

SOLO frontgirl Gayle Brownlee report in her blog about riding the NZ Elite Nationals in Christchurch on the 9th of January. Her job for the team (blue jerseys) was to chase and cover her teammate Linda from Highroad. Check the video at 1:54 and the full story here.
