Right before Christmas (yeah!) we received a package from Terry at Reynolds. He sent over some special tubes made out of seamless, cold worked 3-2,5 titanium. The tubes used are some longer seatstays tapered from 18x0,5 to 15x0,7mm at the tip. We want to check the material as bikepolo mallet shafts concerning bending and denting resistance compared to our own 7075-T6 shafts. The plain shafts are with 155gr. slightly heavier than our serial Mo shafts with 120gr. (both uncut at 105cm). The material is pretty tough and seems to be slightly stiffer than aluminium. A finished mallet comes out at about 270gr. at 98cm which is pretty good for easy handling and a precise shot. But after all The Clowns will have the final say ;-) BTW: The first batch of Mo´s Mallet serial production will arrive by end of the month.. If you have placed an order, your one will leave the warehouse this year yet.
